In April 2007, Moses opened West Cary Group with the idea of combining ROI-oriented marketing with elegant creative.


Outside the office, he serves on the Executive Advisory Council for the University of Richmond Robins School of Business, the Board of Trustees for HCA Chippenham/Johnston-Willis Hospitals, and the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce. Prior to forming WCG, Moses was senior director of creative development at Capital One. He holds a BA from Virginia Tech.

Carolyn possesses a powerful combination of experience on both sides of the client management table.


She started her career leading large marketing and business teams at four-time agency of the year The Martin Agency. As a follow-up, she spent 20+ years on the client side in senior marketing roles at Capital One, working with agencies and partners alike to great acclaim. Her extensive work there as a Managing Vice President, and later the Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, helped sharpen her lauded business minded approach. Carolyn is an award-winning Brand storyteller who excels at translating business goals into compelling, customer-facing narratives with a proven ability to deliver disruptive and breakthrough results.

With a successful track record as both a hands-on creative performer and a creative leader, Debra leads the creative team in the development of smart, innovative solutions.

Equally at home with branding and performance marketing, print and digital, she ensures her team continually raises the bar. She is a graduate of the VCU School of Arts.

Chief Analytics Officer

Dan has extensive experience as a leader using data to solve complex problems.

He started his career serving our country as a nuclear engineer on a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier and then spent nearly 20 years at Capital One as a leader and innovator, bringing the power of analytics to marketing, credit and operations. Dan earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Carolina and his MBA from University of Richmond.

Troy is a dynamic marketing executive with 25 years of experience across a variety of marketing, P&L, analytics and operations roles in B2C and B2B.

He has held CMO roles in small, high-growth organizations and led marketing strategy for nearly half of his 20+ years at Capital One. Troy brings a passion for combining analytics and creativity across the marketing funnel to our clients and our agency. He helps clients work backward from their business vision to create digestible, actionable marketing strategies to advance their growth and brand. Troy is an active board member at NextUpRVA, championing out-of-school-time programs for local middle schoolers. He holds a B.A. in psychology from the University of Virginia.

Lisa Moran

Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer

Lisa brings new meaning to the phrase “accounting professional.”

She has 20 years of accounting experience in financial reporting, project management, risk analysis, internal controls, data analysis, regulatory reporting, operations accounting, SOX and SQL knowledge – and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. With such a robust skillset, there’s no question that she’s an invaluable contributor to our agency’s financial health. Lisa holds a B.A. in accounting from Flagler College and a M.A. in the same field from the University of South Florida.

Joe Barco

VP, Engineering

Joe has over 20 years of experience in software engineering, including leadership roles in the banking, retail and supply chain management industries for both small and very large companies.

He chairs the Management Advisory Board at Virginia Tech where he partners with faculty and students to improve their academic experience at the institution. Joe earned his B.S. degree in management and finance at Virginia Tech and his MBA in information systems at VCU.

Jennie Mummert

Jennie Mummert attended Christopher Newport University, earning a B.S. in business and marketing.

Following college, she served as a fundraising coordinator and executive director at the Muscular Dystrophy Association, worked in development at two Virginia educational institutions, and most recently was a senior strategic leader at EAB, where she managed 25+ client partnerships. With such a varied background, she brings a refreshing perspective to her role on the WCG Account Management team. Jennie is hailed for her ability to build strong partnerships by rising to and overcoming any client challenge.

Kristen has over 12 years of experience in design disciplines and creative management.

Her expertise runs the gamut, and she has delved into everything from book cover print design at Penguin Random House to digital design and management at West Elm. Along the way, she worked for notable clients like Amazon, Sephora and Williams-Sonoma. Kristen is a natural leader, has a flair for digital design and thrives in a fast-paced environment – all characteristics that make her a tremendous asset in overseeing brand visuals, leading strategies and nurturing the vision of WCG creative teams. Kristen graduated from the Academy of Art University with a BFA in graphic design.

Mike Benjamin headshot

Mike Benjamin

VP, Experience Design

Mike is a multi-faceted, human-centered design (HCD) evangelist with a proven track record of developing award-winning digital experiences and products.

Having spent 20 years at Capital One in brand, product and UX roles, he led the enterprise experience design and research team at the 1717 Userlabs Research and Innovation Lab and led hundreds of CRO efforts for the company. He is an inventor at heart and was granted three USPTO patents in ML transaction classification data, real-time rewards at point-of-sale and mobile-integrated secondary-rewards service offerings. Mike graduated magna cum laude from VCU’s School of Business and is HFI certified in Usability and CX.

Melissa attended Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, where she attained a B.A. in Business and Economics.

Following graduation, she held several marketing positions at Hodes, AOL and Virtus Marketing before arriving at WCG. At our firm, Melissa led the rebrand for Atlantic Union Bank. She currently works on several public sector accounts including Chesterfield Economic Development, Emergency Management of Central Virginia, and Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Melissa also leads our Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae relationships leading engagement and raising the bar on the creative we deliver to our valued clients. We benefit greatly from her strong business acumen, good marketing instincts and meticulous attention to detail.
