Role Qualifications: Software engineering specializing in front end development for web sites and applications.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work on an agile team and as an individual to build world class websites and applications
  • Code in HTML, CSS/SCSS, JS and other tools to build dynamic websites
  • Must be able to write CSS based on comps delivered by the design team
  • Work on projects using React or similar JavaScript frameworks
  • Work with CMS tools as needed
  • Be able to work with Creative team to provide guidance on the technical implementation of designs
  • Work with backend engineers to coordinate the build of full stack applications
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.  Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • Detail-oriented, ambitious, and a solid tactical thinker who knows how to turn a creative brief or creative direction into user-friendly, brilliant Web sites and online applications
  • A minimum of 2 years of proficiency  in writing HTML 5, JavaScript, CSS
  • A strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues, specifically from Windows Internet Explorer 6 to current
  • Understands how to code for different devices – Can we provide examples of these different devices?
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience using Windows and Mac Web browsers
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience converting design mockups/comps to code
  • Ability to work with CMS tools like WordPress
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to a wide variety of problems

Art Director

West Cary Group is a full-service, digital marketing and technology agency based in Richmond, Virginia, which services numerous mid-sized local and Fortune 500 clients across a vast array of industries. The ideal candidate will be help plan and execute art, design and visual elements to deliver a high-quality creative product for West Cary Group.

Role Qualifications: 

  • Focuses on the visual development of the creative product, working closely with the Creative Director and other team members to ensure the quality and integrity of the product meets or exceeds product vision and pushes the boundaries of competitive visual execution.
  • Supports team’s goal of delivering world-class creative products.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualizes great design in digital, motion, print and environmental channels.
  • Provides creative solutions that deliver on the brief in unique and innovative ways and maintain an exceptional design aesthetic.
  • Utilizes animation and video to deliver engaging content and customer experiences.
  • Collaborates and leads projects that focus on UX and information architecture across multiple channels.
  • Creates design that translates across platforms and campaigns.
  • Establishes and maintains very aggressive deadlines for meeting demands of multiple client projects.
  • Troubleshoots and devises solutions with both the internal team and external clients.
  • Coordinates and directs other creative team members, including copywriters and designers, to ensure the successful outcome of campaigns and projects.
  • Presents creative solutions to internal team and clients.
  • Works with outside vendors to ensure the vision for the creative product is brought to life effectively and on budget.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 to 9 years of experience in art direction and design.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a visual arts program or related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • Previous experience establishing and maintaining very aggressive deadlines for meeting demands of multiple client projects.
  • Previous experience in animation, digital and print media.
  • Strong understanding of creative for content, direct response, social media and mobile applications.
  • Must be proficient in Sketch and Adobe After Effects as well as the entire Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and Microsoft applications.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and organized, with strong visual design skills, including layout, typography and high graphic standards.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Understanding of coding for digital projects is a plus.
  • Corporate in-house or external marketing agency experience is preferred.

Role Description:

The ideal candidate provides visionary, strategic direction for West Cary Group and for the account management teams, to meet the marketing needs of clients and strategic goals for West Cary Group.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Engages in the growth, development, and strategic direction of the agency
  • Ensures that West Cary Group is providing excellent service to the Client in all key areas: Marketing, Creative, Media, Research, and Account Management
  • Develops and applies breakthrough customer insight, as well as exceptional thinking, communication and influence skills, leadership, and energy to help drive customer business goals
  • Networks and consults with clients, and develop project proposals that retain clients and exploit new revenue opportunities
  • Uses client insight to help the team develop great creative marketing ideas
  • Must identify high impact opportunities for developing innovative approaches to meet the needs of clients
  • Must possess the ability to create comprehensive marketing programs and drive business goals for customers
  • Must continuously study the marketplace and leverage research, trends, and innovation to drive world-class marketing strategies
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree, MBA or advanced degree preferred or 10+ years of prior work experience
  • Should be self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and possess a clear focus on high quality and business profitability
  • Must possess strong forward-planning skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present to clients
  • Must be an empathic communicator and able to see things from the other person’s point-of-view
  • Demonstrates talent and training to influence key client decision makers and achieve acceptable outcomes for the client
